Video Tutorials
At just $10 a month, video tutorials are the most affordable way to learn cello. Perfect for those who are self-motivated, video tutorials put you in control of the curriculum by allowing you to select what and when you want to learn. Current videos include how to read sheet music, how to play holiday music at beginner and intermediate levels, and companion videos to Western Classical Music for Beginning Cellists book 1.

Asynchronous Cello Lessons
Individualized cello lessons for only $15 USD a month! Everyone says private lessons are essential when learning cello, but not everyone has the time or money for live lessons. Asynchronous lessons provide the individual help and attention you need without the hassle of scheduling lessons and at a much affordable rate.
With asynchronous lessons, instruction is catered to your needs as a cello learner or teacher. Topics can include cello technique, music reading, music theory, music history, improvisation, arranging, composition, pedagogy, and more.
Asynchronous lessons are available using the Telegram app (available for Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Linux, and MacOS). You can send texts and/or videos from any device with your questions and/or examples of your playing and I will send feedback within 2 business days without needing to coordinate schedules. We can send texts and videos back and forth as much as you’d like for only $15 USD per month.

Live Cello Lessons
There is something about a live cello lesson that can’t be recreated any other way. Live cello lessons allow for spontaneity and immediate feedback that can be inspiring and motivating. Cello learners and teachers can come to their lesson with specific needs in mind or Sam can get things started with curriculum for any level.
All live lessons are held on Zoom. For the best video and sound quality, it is recommended that students use a laptop or desktop computer and headphones or earbuds for private lessons. Lessons can be scheduled directly on the studio calendar either individually or with a regular weekly time. Lessons are billed at the end of the month at the rate of $90 USD per hour, including VAT. Invoices can be paid with debit or credit card.
Private lessons canceled more than 24 hours in advance will be rescheduled or not charged. Private lessons canceled less than 24 hours in advance cannot be guaranteed a makeup and will be charged in full (except in cases of emergency or illness). Private lessons where the student does not show without canceling before the lesson start time will be charged in full and will not be offered a makeup. Private lessons canceled by Sam will be made up or not charged.
We tried another “in person” teacher, but quickly returned to Sam- a “virtual” Sam is loads better than an “in person” anyone else!!
